Home Rewiring in the San Fernando Valley

Much of the Valley was built between the late 1940s and the 1970s, and many of those homes still run on ungrounded two-wire circuits and cloth-insulated wire. Some houses built between about 1965 and 1974 have aluminum branch wiring, and the oldest homes in Studio City, Sherman Oaks and Burbank can still have knob and tube. We rewire the whole house or the worst circuits, add grounded outlets, and bring kitchens, baths and laundry rooms up to current code. Who issues your permit and who powers your home depends on where in the Valley you live. We know each one and handle the paperwork.

City of Los Angeles Neighborhoods

Van Nuys, North Hills, Panorama City, Encino, Sherman Oaks and Studio City are permitted by LADBS and powered by LADWP.

Burbank

Permits come from the City of Burbank and power from Burbank Water and Power, which requires service planning before a panel upgrade.

Glendale

Permits come from the City of Glendale and power from Glendale Water and Power.

We book the city inspection and meet the inspector. LADWP, BWP and GWP each run their own EV charger rebates, and we point you to the current one.
